in the US: New pin block,
tuning pins, strings, new
damper felt, fully regulated
ivory keys.
One of the notable assets of this
baby grand piano is how well it
holds it's tuning, especially here in
the tropics.
The Sohmer Co was founded in
1872, in New York City by the
German immigrant, Hugo Sohmer
and stayed in the family for 110
years.
Sohmer grands were sold in
Steiway Hall along side Steinways-
no mean feat!
A Sohmer grand was the choice for
Irving Berlin and other luminaries.
When the new pin block was
installed, the serial number was
lost but this is a "pre-war model"
when quality of materials and
craftsmanship was at it's prime.
